about

The Antikythera Mechanism is believed to be an ancient mechanical calculator, or a mechanical computer designed to calculate astronomical positions. It was discovered in the Antikythera wreck off the Greek island of Antikythera, between Kythera and Crete, and has been dated to about 150-100 BC.

This music, mostly composed and produced in 2007 on the Roland Sound Canvas, is inspired by the image of the ancients, sailing with courage and fear on the sea in wooden ships under the stars, pondering the mysterious universe, and creating machines in hopes of understanding.
